RERA set to come effect in Telangana from August 1

This would ensure that all local bodies who accord building permissions are automatically uploaded on the RERA portal.

Hyderabad: The long-pending Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, known as RERA, will come into force in Telangana state from August 1.

Special chief secretary, revenue, Rajeshwar Tiwari, who is also TS-RERA chairman, said on Wednesday said that the meeting with promoters of real estate projects would be held next week to create awareness among the builders about the Act. A meeting was held on Wednesday to firm up measures for the launch.

Mr Arvind Kumar, principal secretary, municipal administration, said software should be developed to have a link between the sanctioning authority and RERA.

This would ensure that all local bodies who accord building permissions are automatically uploaded on the RERA portal. All the real estate agents should get registered with Rera, he said.  

RERA rules will be applicable to all the projects whose permissions are approved by urban development authorities, municipal corporations, municipalities.
