Visakhapatnam: The higher education department aims to get funds under the Corporate Social Responsibility head from companies that will help establish or upgrade the infrastructure, develop opportunities and ensure sustainable quality education services delivery in the area of Higher Education.

The department is gearing up to establish Andhra Pradesh Corporate Social Responsibility Society (APCSRS) that could help fill the gap between the Government and CSR funding institutions including public and private sector firms. The APCSRS will help to receive and manage CSR funds while coordinating, monitoring and implementing ongoing projects connected with it.

The society will also act as a bridge between university research projects and related industry for direct funding.

Channelising CSR contribution for strengthening different vocational training centres to improve employability skills among the youth and ensuring that the funds are extended as financial assistance to economically and socially marginalised students from degree colleges/polytechnics and universities would be the aim of  APCSRS.

In case the Society is to be wound up, it shall be governed by Sections of the Andhra Pradesh Society Registration Act 2001.

The property funds of the society that will remain after full satisfaction of the liabilities of the society will be transferred or paid to some other institutions having similar aims and objectives as voted by the General Body.
