Visakhapatnam: Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh while light to moderate rain/thundershowers may occur at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh in the next two days.
Under the influence of an upper air cyclonic circulation over northwest Bay of Bengal, a low pressure area has formed over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal Odisha.
Associated upper air cyclonic circulation extends up to 9.5 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height. The east west shear zone runs roughly along latitude 14.0°N at 7.6 km above mean sea level. The trough on sea level chart now runs from the system to south Tamil Nadu across coastal AP and Rayalaseema.
For August 19 and 20, the IMD has given warning of heavy to very heavy rain in isolated places. The city received good showers on Friday from morning giving some relief from the high humidity.
