Kodagu floods: one more body recovered, toll up to 11
There is no trace of five others who have gone missing in the incident.
Mysuru: One more body of a flood victim was recovered at Thora region in Heggala village in Virajpet taluk on Sunday. With this the death toll in flood and landslide related incidents has touched 11 in Kodagu.
On Sunday, the rescue team found the body of Shankara (60) who was missing and was suspected to be buried under mud after four to five houses collapsed due to landslides on August 9 at Thora. There is no trace of five others who have gone missing in the incident.
Meanwhile cracks were found in Aiyyappa hills and Nehrunagar in Kodagu when a team of Geological Survey of India visited the spot and inspected it. Suspecting the possibility of landslides in the area, the team has asked the Kodagu district administration to house 58 families from these places at relief centres till August 31.
