Mandal leader of Kotepally hurt in attack
According to the Vikarabad police, Mr N. Srinivas Reddy along with three persons went to a function hall on the outskirts of the village.
Hyderabad: The mandal praja parishad member of Kotepally in Vikarabad district suffered injuries in an attack by a function hall owner on Saturday night.
The injured MPP member, N. Srinivas Reddy, was admitted to a hospital in the city for treatment. The accused, C. Srinivas Reddy, has been arrested.
According to the Vikarabad police, Mr N. Srinivas Reddy along with three persons went to a function hall on the outskirts of the village. C. Srinivas Reddy, the hall owner, was also present there and was stated to be drunk.
The duo started quarrelling over a petty issue, following which C. Srinivas Reddy attacked the MPP leader with a beer bottle.
The MPP member suffered a severe bleeding injury to his forehead. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and then shifted to Hyderabad for better treatment.
Based on the complaint from the MPP member’s wife K. Lalitha, a case was registered against the accused with Kotepally police and an investigation is on, said an officer of the Vikarabad police.
Mr N. Srinivas Reddy was elected in the recent elections. Police is looking into the angle of previous enmity.
