16 Dasara sub committees formed to finalise programmes

Mysuru: With hardly 21 days left for the  ten-day Dasara festivities in Mysuru to begin, the district administration has set up 16 Dasara sub-committees to finalise the programmes and has appointed members to all the committees. Each committee will have a deputy special officer, executive president and secretary. Committees are being formed to hold the Dasara procession and the torch light parade, cultural programmes, food festival, film festival, poets meet, farmers’ Dasara, Dasara Sports, Arts and Crafts Dasara , Yoga Dasara, Yuva Sambrama and Yuva Dasara, Women and Children’s Dasara.

The appointment of political representatives is however still pending. Dasara executive committee president and Mysuru district minister G.T. Devegowda had said last week that each committee will have 25 members including five elected representatives each from the Congress, BJP  and JD (S). The committees will finalise programmes for Dasara by September 26.
