Bengaluru: Alleging that the opposition BJP is merely trying to ‘scare’ the coalition government, JD(S) State President Mr A.H. Vishwanath said the saffron party is actually not behaving like an ideal opposition party. Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, he said the BJP was misleading people while shirking its responsibility of taking up sensitive issues.

For one, Mr Yeddyurappa, despite being opposition leader, has not spoke anything about the recent Kodagu deluge nor have the two BJP legislators from Kodagu done anything to help people in distress. There is a need to reconstruct Kodagu and BJP leaders should go to Delhi and ensure a special package for this purpose, he said adding that “politics can wait.”

Lauding the state government for reducing fuel prices by Rs 2, Mr Vishwanath said this proves the commitment of the chief minister and the advantage a regional party led government has for it does not have to wait for the high command’s approval before taking major decisions.
