Manish Sinha reports to parent cadre
Sinha was probing the FIR against Asthana, the CBI’s number 2 back then, besides other important cases like the PNB scam involving Nirav Modi.
Hyderabad: Senior IPS officer Manish Kumar Sinha, who took the corridors of power in New Delhi by storm after he dragged in the national security adviser Ajit Doval in the sensational CBI vs CBI case last year, has reported back to his parent cadre of Andhra Pradesh. He will be given a posting shortly.
A 2000 batch IPS officer, Manish Kumar Sinha, who was then posted as DIG in CBI, had moved a petition in the Supreme Court alleging that Ajit Doval, Union minister Hari-bhai Parthibhai Chaud-hary and Chief Vigil-ance Commissioner K.V. Chowdary had interfered in the probe agai-nst CBI special director Rakesh Asthana and stymied a search of his residence. Mr Sinha was probing the FIR against Asthana, the CBI’s number 2 back then, besides other important cases like the PNB scam involving Nirav Modi.
Sources in Andhra Pradesh said that the state government had written to three IPS officers to consider returning to their parent cadre, in view of shortage of IPS officers in AP.
Following this, Manish Kumar Sinha, who was posted in the Bureau of Police Research and Development in New Delhi, gave his consent to return and accordingly his orders were issued by the minister of home affairs recently.
