HYDERABAD: Paver blocks are being used by Hyderabad Metro Rail to repair the road near the Peddamma temple and Madhapur Metro Rail stations on Road No. 36, Jubilee Hills. HMR started the work as the broken drain had badly damaged the road at Road No. 36 Jubilee Hills during the recent rains. The engineers at the site said that there was a lot of debris, silt, plastic and other garbage that got strewn around when water from the drain flowed down the road.

Hence 200-metre sections on both sides of the Peddamma temple and Madhapur Metro Rail station will have paver blocks. The work had earlier been carried out at Khairatabad junction. Paver blocks are used when the conventional types of construction like cement concrete road or tar roads prove to be less durable. Environmental constrains like water passages and downstream where a lot of water flows away is also one of the reasons to use this technology. The paver blocks have interlinked block pavements which will ensure that the durability is maintained.
