YSRC wants Centre to probe graft in Polavaram work
He said YSRC MPs would meet Union minister Nitin Gadkari and brief him about the irregularities.
Hyderabad: YSRC Ongole MP Y.V. Subba Reddy demanded a high-level inquiry into the irregularities in the Polavaram project contract, alleging that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had been using the project as a milch cow for kickbacks.
He said YSRC MPs would meet Union minister Nitin Gadkari and brief him about the irregularities with a demand that the Centre should take up the project construction instead of entrusting it to the state government.
Speaking to the media in Delhi on Wednesday, Mr Subba Reddy said, “Close on the heels of Mr Gadkari’s remarks that Polavaram should be built as a corruption-free project, Mr Naidu has rushed to the Nagpur with a proposal to change the contractor which shows the real intentions.”
