Hyderabad Cricket Association to build cricket stadium in Warangal
Warangal city, which has been receiving importance as the second capital of Telangana, will soon get an international cricket stadium.
Warangal: Warangal city, which has been receiving importance as the second capital of Telangana, will soon get an international cricket stadium. Speaking at a public meeting here on Saturday, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has developed a special bond with Warangal and its people and this was evident by the crores or rupees sanctioned for the development of Warangal city.
“I would like a make a special request to Hyderabad Cricket Association president and adviser to the state government G. Vivek to give Warangal an international cricket stadium. We will provide 25 acres of land for the purpose. I request him to respond to my demand,” Mr Srihari said, passing the mike to Mr Vivek. Mr Vivek promised that he would definitely strive to build a world-class cricket stadium in Warangal with a budget of Rs 25 crore.
“The HCA has been conducting under – 19 and under – 17 cricket tournaments to recognize the local talent from rural areas of the state. Building a cricket stadium would surely benefit the local youth to hone their skills and contribute to the state government’s efforts to bring overall development to Warangal,” he said.
