Telangana school fee issue: Parents threaten to resign from panel
The delay in submission of the Professor Tirupathi Rao committee report has irked parent associations in Telangana.
Hyderabad: The delay in submission of the Professor Tirupathi Rao committee report has irked parent associations in Telangana. They alleged that the committee for school fee regulation has turned into a farce, and stated that they will resign from the committee if the report is not submitted by November-end. The report, which was to be submitted on April 20, was postponed six times and parents submitted a memorandum to Sri Kishan, commissioner and director of education, on Saturday.
Over 4,000 schools have submitted their data in the official website. However, the committee claimed that they need more reports. Seema Agarwal, a member of HSPA, said, “HSPA wants the government to pass an order preventing fee hikes from the next academic year for which many schools have already started early admissions against the government order.” N. Narayana, president of Telangana Parents’ Association, said, “It is shameful that the report is yet to be submitted after eight months. If the government fails to act, we will intensify our struggle.”
