Telangana Assembly expresses condolence over Jayalalithaa's demise
Jayalalithaa passed away on December 5 at a private hospital in Chennai after battling for life for 75 days.
Hyderabad: The Telangana Legislative Assembly on Monday condoled the death of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and several former legislators.
"This House places on record its deep sense of sorrow at the demise of Dr J Jayalalithaa, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, and conveys its deep sense of sympathy to the members of bereaved family," the condolence motion read out by Speaker S Madhusudanachary said.
Jayalalithaa passed away on December 5 at a private hospital in Chennai after battling for life for 75 days.
The Assembly also condoled the death of former member Ch Rajeswara Rao, a freedom fighter and a veteran leader, and others, including Ujjini Narayana Rao, Vithal Rao Deshpandey, Koneru Nageswara Rao and Bojjapalli Rajaiah.
The members observed silence for some time in memory of the departed souls. They later carried on with the agenda. The winter session of Telangana Assembly began last week.
