Vijayawada: Buoyed by the success of Bhavani Deekshalu, the officials of Sri Durga Malleswara Devasthanam have planned for new programmes to draw more devotees to the temple. Special programmes have been planned for Dec. 22, the annual day of Dharma Prachara Radham.

On Jan. 22, 2018, "Laksha Galarchana" would be conducted, according to temple executive officer J. Suryakumari. She said: "We are planning to conduct Galarchana with 1 lakh devotees on the eve of Vasant Panchami. We are searching for a suitable place and will soon announce it". The temple management is consulting spiritual organisations to gather 1 lakh devotees for the Galarchana.

The management is happy that the Bhavani Deekshalu passed off smoothly without any disturbance, even when the number of pilgrims has increased by 13 per cent this year. The management is focusing on generating revenue by celebrating every auspicious day in the Telugu calendar as a special occasion. This morning, Saraswati Yagam was conducted on the premises on the eve of Moola Nakshatram, which comes every month. Almost 200 students participated in the Yagam.
