Experts to help Cyclone Ockhi victims recuperate

Most families are in deep trauma and struggling to come to terms with the reality of losing their near and dear ones.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Experts are planning house visits in Cyclone Ockhi affected areas to provide help to the victims. The house visits aims to interact directly  with women and children who are experiencing post traumatic stress. One of the major challenges before the authorities is to  provide support to the families which have lost close family members.

Since the post traumatic stress is more prominent among children and women, during the house visits the focus would be on the most vulnerable sections.  Most families are in deep trauma and struggling to come to terms with the reality of losing their  near and dear ones. These people would require continuous help and counselling from psychologist and psychiatrists’.
