Odisha to hold first ever World Odia Language meet in February

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet on Tuesday cleared a proposal to conduct the first ever World Odia Language conference in February 2024.

While speaking to reports about the Cabinet decision, Sujata Karthikeyan, the secretary of Odia language, literature and cultural department, said, “It is a matter of great pride that we are going to have the first ever World Odia Language conference in Odisha in February 2024. The first of its kind conference will involve people from all over the world who have worked on this language and it will primarily focus on youth and the challenges that the Odia language might face in the future.”
