TIRUPATI: Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer has praised the  central government's ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ initiative and said it aims to ensure that the people are informed about the governmental benefits and facilities available to them.

The governor participated as chief guest in the Yatra programme at the Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam (SPMVV) here on Monday. He said the primary goal of this initiative was to achieve the saturation levels for government schemes or reach out to the maximum people in need of help. “This is contributing to the cause of a self-reliant and developed India by 2047,” the governor said.

Governor Nazeer noted the active engagement of the central government along with states and Union territories in ensuring that the benefits of their flagship schemes reached the maximum number of people. “These initiatives encompass a wide range of fundamental needs, including sanitation facilities, financial services, LPG connections, housing for the poor, food security, healthcare, clean drinking water and education.

The focus is on making these services accessible to all eligible beneficiaries, emphasizing the importance of last-mile delivery,” he said.

The 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra' campaign adopts a wholesome governmental approach with active participation from various ministries, state governments, central government entities and institutions.

“Key objectives of the Yatra include reaching out to eligible individuals not benefiting from schemes, disseminating information, generating awareness, learning from citizens through interactions and enrolling potential beneficiaries”, the governor explained.

He also highlighted various outreach programmes implemented on a saturation basis, including the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, the PM Awas Yojana, the Jal Jeevan Mission, the PM Kisan Samman, etc.

Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Governor Nazeer underlined the significance of the next 25 years, known as 'Amrit Kaal,' leading up to the centenary of India's Independence in 2047. “The goal of Amrit Kaal is to usher in prosperity for India and its citizens by bridging the development gap between villages and cities, he stated.”

The governor urged all public representatives, officials, non-officials and civil society organisations to actively participate in creating awareness about the government's flagship programmes.

Tirupati collector Venkataramana Reddy, mayor Sirisha, SPMVV vice chancellor D Bharathi, municipal commissioner Haritha and others were present.
