Rajahmundry: Vigilance and enforcement officials on Saturday detected irregularities during their inspection of several paddy purchase centres in East Godavari.
According to East Godavari vigilance and enforcement SP Reddy Gangadhara Rao, two purchase centres at Rajapudi of Jaggampeta mandal that were being run by the Primary Agriculture Credit Society and Velugu were found to be purchasing the paddy through rice millers and not as per set norms. The firms were also not maintaining proper records of the dealings.
Authorities inspected another purchase sentre at Kapileswarapuram and found that there was no maintenance of records or registers for the deals and there was no official inspection done.
So was it the case at PPC at Tapeswaram and also at PPC at Ambajipeta. Authorities said that except for PPC at Korukonda, no senior official inspected the PPCs in the district.
