BDJS open to all fronts
The party was currently trying to build a strong base.
ALAPPUZHA: The Bharatiya Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS) is willing to hold talks with any front for an electoral alliance in the Assembly elections. This was decided at a high-level meeting held at Mavelikara on Friday.
Mr Thushar Vellapally, president, central committee (ad hoc), of BDJS told reporters that the party had not so far conducted any formal discussions with any front.
“Maybe Mr Vellapally Natesan had talked to political leaders in his capacity as SNDP Yogam general secretary. But those talks do not come within the purview of the party. However, the BDJS is not at loggerheads with any party , including the BJP,” he said.
The party was currently trying to build a strong base. “It has now 5,25,000 members. We have decided to achieve 10-lakh target by March 15,” he said.
Mr Tushar said it was KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran and not Chief Minister Oommen Chandy who was responsible for the problems in the state . He denied the reports that he had approached the centre for any positions and said that he had no parliamentary ambitions. “I took up the responsibility in the party as everyone forced me,” he added.
Mr Vellappally Natesan and other state committee members also attended the meeting. Mr Natesan had said on Tuesday that the BDJS would join any front to contest the Assembly elections.
