CPM secretary says party against murders
On the T.P. Chandrasekharan murder case, he said action was taken against those involved.
Kollam: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has indirectly admitted the role of CPM workers in the murder of Youth Congress men at Periya, Kasargod, and said it was a violation of the party's stand against political murders.
“The murder occurred without the knowledge of the party. It has already slammed political murders and the incident is against the party’s stand. That is why the party has ensured stringent action against the perpetrators,” Mr. Balakrishnan told the media during the Kerala Samrakshana Yatra here on Tuesday.
“The CPM workers should not involve in any sort of violence. There should not be reprisal on the attack by Congress workers. These instructions have been passed on to party workers,” Mr. Balakrishnan added.
He added that the CPM had lost many workers due to political murders. “Some 700 party members were killed mostly by the Congress men. The RSS killed 236 of them. The Congress has even used police force to shoot down party workers in Koothu-parambu,” he said.
On the T.P. Chandrasekharan murder case, he said action was taken against those involved. P.K.Kunjanandan was spared as he was falsely accused in the case.
