Kerala CM to launch Safe Kerala'

Fourteen control rooms would be operating round the clock from where vehicles can be tracked and monitored across the state.

Kozhikode: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will launch 'Safe Kerala' project to ensure safe traffic on the state's roads at the inaugural venue of 1000 days' celebrations of his government here on Wednesday.

Fourteen enforcement regional transport officers with 85 enforcement squads would be ready to monitor the vehicular movement of major roads of the state once the project is on track.It is an improved version of the 'Safe Zone' project successfully implemented during the Sabarimala pilgrimage season.

Fourteen control rooms would be operating round the clock from where vehicles can be tracked and monitored across the state.

The project would also ensure better coordination of various departments after accidents. As many as 252 officials are appointed to the project and are on with special training programmes.
