Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu to inaugurate Necklace Road in Nellore
On February 23, he would inaugurate a medical camp at Swarna Bharat Trust and leave for Renigunta by a special train from Venkatachalam.
Nellore: With only 24 hours left for the opening of Rs 30 crores worth Necklace Road at Nellore by Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu, urban development minister P. Narayana, mayor S.K. Abdul Aziz and NUDA chairman Kotamr-eddy Srinivasulu Reddy have been personally supervising the works of the road, on the banks of Nellore tank.
They have deployed workforce of some major contractors to expedite the works after noticing the snail pace of its progress.
“Initially we had planned to complete the Necklace road works by February end and to inaugurate the facility. However, we have advanced the exercise after coming to know about Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu’s plan to visit Nellore. We are keen to get this inaugurated by him because he was instrumental in including Nellore civic body under Amrut Scheme while he was the union minister for urban development,” Narayana said.
Meanwhile, the Vice-President will reach Nellore by a special train from Renigunta on Wednesday and he will inaugurate the Necklace Road on Wednesday evening around 6.15 p.m.
The next day. February 21, he would inaugurate FM Radio Station, new railway line from Obulavaripalle to Krishn-apatnam, composite regional centre and lay foundation stone to develop Nellore railway station as world-class station.
On February 22, the Vice-President along with President Ram Nath Kovind would visit Akshra Vidyalaya at Venkatachalam and participate in the 18th anniversary of Swarna Bharat Trust.
