Hyderabad: Gandhi Hospital patient S. Raju, who was forced to ride a toy car as he was denied a wheelchair, was given a tricycle wheelchair by a non-government organisation on Sunday at the behest of health minister Dr Laxma Reddy.
The hospital suspended two Class IV employees on Saturday after the incident came to light via a viral video.
The sensitisation program for ward boys will be carried out from Monday. The government wants all hospitals follow-up with the programme, following complaints of patients being denied wheelchairs and stretchers.
