Hyderabad: Ganja worth Rs 81lakh seized, one arrested

Hyderabad: A huge consignment of Ganja destined to be delivered to handlers in the city was seized by sleuths of the directorate of revenue intelligence at Tarnaka on Monday afternoon.

Officials arrested one person and seized ganja weighing 543 Kgs worth Rs 81 lakh in the open market. According to officials, the pick up had a false cavity created in the top portion of the body with the top portion kept open as usual. The vehicle started with the consignment form Vizag and was heading for delivery in the city.

Based on a tip off, the officials intercepted the vehicle at Tarnaka and searched the vehicle and found the contraband packed in the false cavity of the vehicle.
The driver was arrested and the material along with the vehicle seized for further investigation.
