Thiruvananthapuram: Burglar decamps with gold, phones
Kanjiramakulam police has registered a case.
Thiruvananthapuram: A large-scale burglary was reported at a residence near Kanjiramkulam on Friday when the members of the family had gone out to attend special prayers in a church. As per reports, 30 sovereigns of gold ornaments, which would cost nearly Rs 8 lakh and two mobile phones worth Rs 8000 and Rs 6500 were stolen from AVM House of Thankamony at Thunduvila in Karinkulam village.
Kanjiramakulam police has registered a case.
The burglar who allegedly broke open the backdoor of the house robbed the ornaments that were kept locked inside an almirah in the master bedroom along with the phones kept in the same room.
The burglary is suspected to have occurred sometime between 8 am and 10 am when the family was away in CSI Church at Paraniyam to attend the prayers.
The burglar had a thorough search in all the rooms of the house as was evident from the fact that articles inside the rooms were lying scattered. The burglar also poured water all over the floor to outsmart the sniffer dogs.
