GUNTUR: The AP government issued Land Acquisition (LA) notifications to acquire lands in Amaravati government core capital Lingayapalem and Navuluru in Mangalagiri  mandal on Friday. An extent of 110 acres would be acquired in Lingayapalem and 183 in Navuluru. In all,  1,101 landowners and 106 residential houseowners would be affected in Navuluru due to land acquisition. The houses would be taken for the construction of road.

Similarly 81 landowners would be affected with the land acquisition in Lingayapalem. The Amaravati Core Capital construction works are scheduled to start soon and the government is keen to complete at least one or two big buildings of Amaravati core. Hence, the non-pooling lands are essential for uniform development. The APCRDA already issued LA notifications to a majority of the villages in the Amaravati capital region and progressing for the completion of notification process.

The non-pooling lands of Undavalli, Penumaka, Lingayapalem, Rayapudi, Tallayapalem, Navuluru and other areas became hard nuts as the local farmers and landowners are adamant to give their lands. Recently, the government decided to acquire lands through consultations to ease the task and the officials are preparing to start the acquisition task after completion of notice period.

Guntur collector K Sasidhar said that EPTRI already conducted a social impact assessment survey in Navuluru and Lingayapalem and the landowners and houseowners can file their objections in 60 days to the deputy collector and land acquisition officer. He said that no sale or purchase transactions would be allowed on the LA notification issued lands and asked the public not to carry out any transactions.

The YSR Congress objected to the issuing of LA notifications and claimed it to be a violation of the court orders. YSRC MLA of Mangalagiri A. Ramakrishna Reddy said that already cultivation is under progress with the help of the High Court orders in Penumaka, Undavalli and other areas but the government is issuing LA notification to the same lands without vacating the stay orders, which is violation of court orders.

Meanwhile, the landowners and houseowners who would be affected due to land acquisition are planning to conduct a meeting to decided future course of action against land acquisition notifications of the government.
