CM Pinarayi Vijayan launches online software building permit
Its services will be extended to all categories of buildings later, he added.
KOZHIKODE: The Suvega- automated and intelligent building permit application system would be introduced in every district through the local bodies, said Minister for Local Administration K.T. Jaleel here on Saturday. He was addressing a function held at the Tagore Centenary Hall to launch the building permit software, claimed to be the first initiative by a local body in the state. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan launched the software.
"We will spread the services of the software across the state within one-and-a- half years," Mr Jaleel said. The public will be able to collect all their required government documents through the Akshaya centres or the Jenasevana Kendram within two years. The application was developed by the E. Government Foundation based in Bangalore and the expenses for developing it was met by the Malabar Chamber of Commerce.
Mayor Thottathil Raveendran said, "the applicants will be able to automatically check whether the building plans submitted online through a link in the corporation website meet the requirement of Kerala Municipality Building Rules." They can get their permit approval without any delay as a proper system will be put in place for the functioning of the application. In the first phase, the software will give permit to all buildings with a height up to 10 metres in a month's time.
Its services will be extended to all categories of buildings later, he added. The major feature of the application is that the applicants could track the processing stage of the permit approval and they will directly get the permit online once they clear all the required formalities.
