Truck driver crashes into parked lorry, dies

The police said that the lorry which was parked on roadside did not have the parking lights on.

Bengaluru: A 40-year-old truck driver died on the spot after he failed to notice a parked lorry on the road side and crashed into it in Yelahanka traffic police limits on Friday night.

The deceased Girish Kumar, a resident of Kodigehalli, worked as a goods truck driver. Around 12.15 am, Girish along with the cleaner, Govind, 28, were heading towards the city from Doddaballapura in a mini-goods truck when Girish failed to notice the parked lorry on the roadside near Wheel and Axel plant on Doddaballapura Road and rammed into it. Girish died on the spot due to severe injuries, while Govind escaped with minor injuries.

The police said that the lorry which was parked on roadside did not have the parking lights on. The Yelahanka traffic police have registered a case.
