Hyderabad: The traffic police has asked Hyderabad Metro Rail to identify ‘red spots’ where road safety measures can be taken up on the Metro Rail corridor.
HMRL managing director N.V.S Reddy said, “The traffic police has suggested that prospective accident prone places must be studied and remedial measures suggested. A committee is being constituted to give specific recommendations on road safety on the Metro Rail corridor.”
The committee will examine the provisions of reflective signages on Metro Rail pillars, protective measures along the central median and on the narrow roads and while getting off the viaduct off the main road.
A committee consisting of traffic and transportation expert Dr T.S. Reddy, additional commissioner of police M. Venkat Reddy and engineers of Hyderabad Metro Rail will be going to study the areas and submit their recommendations within one month, Mr Reddy said.
