DK Shivakumar to cough up hefty amount to settle IT dues?
The Shivakumar camp felt that their leader may go in appeal leading to more confrontations between the Income Tax Department and him.
Bengaluru: The Income Tax department continues to have water resources and medical education minister, D.K. Shivakumar in its sights and has reportedly issued fresh summons asking him to appear in person for hearing in the cases pertaining to tax evasion.
Sources said that besides the criminal case which is pending with the CBI court, Mr Shivakumar may have to cough up a hefty amount which might run into several crores to settle the fine imposed by the Income Tax Department.
A series of raids were conducted on the Vokkaliga strongman of the Congress party about a year ago which had led to a huge controversy with fingers being pointed at the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government for 'victimising' him.
