Kurnool: Buggana demands resignation of ZP chief, scrapping of lease
The ministers, ZP chairman M. Rajasekar and collector G. Veerapandian promised to solve the issues.
Kurnool: Finance minister Buggana Rajendra Reddy on Wednesday called upon the officials concerned to change their mindset and work towards implementing the policies of the government under YSRC. He said to forget about the past and to be mindful of government and to dedicate oneself in carrying out the policies.
The minister was speaking at Kurnool Zilla Parishad general body meeting. Kurnool ZP has come under the scanner as several decisions taken by chairman Mallela Rajasekhar were considered arbitrary and beyond his powers.
YSRC leaders had brought into light a scam where the ZP chairman, in collusion with the CEO, had leased out the ZP chairman’s bungalow to private parties for developing it as a hotel. The minister made an oblique remark at the proceedings at the Zilla Parishad and expected that those responsible would mend their ways.
They demanded ZP chairman to resign from his post and that ZP CEO Visweswara Naidu should be suspended. They also wanted cancellation of lease given to private parties. Responding to this, the collector said that necessary action would be taken to protect the properties.
Presided over by ZP chairman, the meet deliberated upon various issues such as agriculture, drinking water, education, medical, health and others.
However, this meet, where Buggana Rajendranath Reddy and labour minister Gummanur Jayaram attended as chief guests, gave priority to discuss water crisis and agriculture sectors but it did not pass a single resolution at any point. The MLAs and ZPTCs argued with the officials to solve the problems.
The ministers, ZP chairman M. Rajasekar and collector G. Veerapandian promised to solve the issues.
MLAs Katasani Rambhupal Reddy, K. Chennakesava Reddy, T. Arthar, M. Sudhakar Babu, Silpa Chakrapani Reddy, K. Sridevi and others participated in the meeting .
Meanwhile, the ZPTC members, led by ZP chairman M. Rajasekar, felicitated newly appointed Ministers Buggana Rajendranath Reddy and Gummanur Jayaram and also, the MLAs on a grand note.
