Hyderabad: Director General of police (DGP) Anjani Kumar on Thursday directed all SPs to be extra vigilant and ensure that precautionary measures were in place to contain the impact of incessant rains across districts.

He was addressing a review meeting on the situation in districts. He said that police forces at Mulugu, Kothagudem, Mancherial, Peddapalli, and Bhupalpalli are geared up to combat any situation in the wake of heavy rains in Godavari and Pranahita catchment areas.

"These are testing times for the community. Each and every police officer is standing shoulder to shoulder with the people. I urge every citizen to use the Dial 100 family for any emergency help," Kumar said.

Meanwhile, IGP Multi Zone1 Chandrashekar Reddy reached Kothagudem to coordinate rescue and relief operations in the affected areas.
