Hassan: In a bizarre incident, an unidentified person who was travelling ticketless in a Karnataka State Road Corporation Bus (KSRTC) allegedly committed suicide by jumping into river Cauvery from a bridge at Ramanathapura in Arkalgudu taluk of Hassan on Sunday morning.

The person allegedly jumping to the river and was caught on camera by one of the bus passengers who was shooting the swollen Cauvery river on his mobile phone.

Sources said the person who allegedly committed suicide had boarded KSRTC bus at Ramanathapura bus stand and while it was close to 

Aladamara village, this unidentified person requested the bus driver to stop so that he can get down on the bridge and the latter complied.

Immediately, after getting down the bus, he sat on the bridge and walked around for while. Later, he turned to the people around him who were gathered on the bridge to catch glimpse of river Cauvery.

With folded hands, he allegedly jumped to the river and drowned. So far no case has been registered with regard to the drowning, sources said.
