West Bengal: Book replaces Milkha Singh with Farhan Akhtar's picture
The film was based on the life of the flying Sikh Milkha Singh.
Hyderabad: In a shocking incident Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar’s picture was published in a book in West Bengal instead of Milkha Singh. The publishers of the book, while attempting to depict legendary athlete Milkha Singh, had used a picture of Farhan Akhtar as seen in the 2013 film, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. The film was based on the life of the flying Sikh Milkha Singh.
Annoyed with the incident, the actor tweeted immediately to the education minister about the glaring error in school text books, after a Twitter user posted an image of the page from the book with the error and tagged Farhan Akhtar. While tweeting he also tagged Rajya Sabha member and Trinamool Congress spokesperson, Derek O’Brien in his post.
The actor tweeted, “To the Minister of School Education, West Bengal. There is a glaring error with the image used in one of the school text books to depict Milkha Singh-Ji. Could you please request the publisher to recall and replace the book (sic)”.
Mr Derek O’Brien quickly responded and replied, “On it. Thanks for the Feedback.”
