Hyderabad: The High Court has asked the management of AgriGold Group of Companies and petitioners to find buyers for two of the company properties in Vijayawada and Prakasam district of AP.

A division bench of Justice V. Ramasubramanian and Justice S.B. Bhatt was dealing with two petitions by the Telangana AgriGold customers and Agents’ Welfare Association seeking a CBI probe into the cases against the company.

The bench told the petitioners and the management that if anyone came forward to buy the properties, the details must be placed before the court.

The bench said there was a similarity between the market rates of the properties submitted by the petitioners and the management with regard to the rates submitted by both for the 85 acres in CRDA limits at Vijayawada and 1,307 acres in Prakasam district.

Mr L. Ravichander, senior counsel, appearing for the management, submitted that the company had borrowed Rs 18 crore loan from banks by pledging the 1,307 acres. The bench adjourned the hearing to Sept 30.

Elsewhere, the bench expressed dissatisfaction with the AP CID with regard to the probe into the cases against Akshaya Gold Farms and Villas Ltd.

When the bench suggested getting advice from a chartered accountant to probe the case, counsel appearing for the AP government submitted that they had already sought permission from government to engage a chartered accountant.

Stand sought on students
The High Court on Monday asked the governments of TS and AP to spell out their stand by Tuesday with regard to allowing students of other states to secure admission to B category seats of MBBS and BDS courses in private medical and dental colleges.

A division bench comprising Justice V. Ramasubramanian and Justice Anis was hearing a batch of petitions by aspirants for the courses from the states challenging the allotment of seats to students from other states in the colleges.

The petitioners contended that the seats should be allotted only to the students of the Telugu states.
