Chhattisgarh: Girl students allege 'harassment' by teacher
The students, in their complaint alleged that the physics teacher had been harassing them by using abusive language in the class.
Korba: Girl students of a government higher secondary school in Chhattisgarh's Korba district have accused a teacher of harassment and using abusive language, prompting authorities to initiate a probe into the matter.
About 15-20 girls of Higher Secondary School at Chhuri Nagar Panchaya reached the Collectorate along with their parents on Monday from Chhuri, about 22 kms away from Korba, to lodge the complaint.
The students, in their complaint alleged that the physics teacher had been harassing them by using abusive language in the class.
The complaint from girl students, who levelled charges against one of their teachers, has been received, Korba Collector P Dayanand said on Tuesday.
The matter is serious and after investigation, if the allegations made by students are found to be true then stringent action would be taken against the accused, he added. The teacher was also accused of ill treating the students.
The complaint added that the students had informed about the issue to the Principal but no action was taken. They also claimed that the teacher enjoys political support.
Talking to media persons, parents of the students said they are afraid of the teacher and will not send their children to school unless strong action is taken against him. Parents also demanded to boycott the teacher from school.
