Resign and face CBI inquiry: Stalin to EPS
Palaniswami had become the Chief Minister by accident, after the demise of former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, he added.
Chennai: Launching a broadside on Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami for allegedly awarding tenders worth crores in the state highways department, DMK party chief and Opposition leader M.K Stalin said that Palaniswami should face a CBI inquiry, setting aside his post.
Speaking at a function at Kanchipuram on Thursday, Stalin described Edappadi as 'Edupudi' (servant). "Because he is doing what the BJP at the center is ordering, the BJP remains a master, while EPS stays a servant.
At a recent public meeting, EPS had said that cases were filed against him, and in return, he would not hesitate to file case against the DMK," Stalin said.
Palaniswami had become the Chief Minister by accident, after the demise of former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, he added.
"EPS should step down and not remain 'thick-skinned'. Like school children, the AIADMK men say that they would file cases against the DMK. But, even as the AIADMK government had earlier filed cases against the DMK, all of them went futile," Stalin recounted.
"Let the verdict on 18 disqualified MLAs come. All the AIADMK ministers are speaking ruthlessly. Then let us unite and remove the government, and people of the state should support it," added Stalin.
