Be patriotic, Syedna urges Dawoodi Bohras
Senior government officials and businessmen are expected to meet the Syedna to discuss areas of mutual interest.
Hyderabad: Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the 53rd al-Dai al-Mutlaq (spiritual leader) and head of the Dawoodi Bohras, asked the community to be patriotic and law-abiding.
He was speaking on the occasion of Chehlum, the commemoration of the 40th day of martyrdom of Prophet Mohammed’s grandson Imam Husain who was slain in Karbala, Iraq.
Dr Saifuddin, who is in the city for a 10-day sojourn, will also participate in socio-cultural programmes, including a trade fair and a mass marriage ceremony known as Rasme Saifee.

This is his maiden visit to the city after becoming the spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community.
There are 8,000 members of the community in the twin cities. Another 17,000 members came to the city from neighbouring states for the Syedna’s visit.
