Hyderabad: Man stamps sis’ Pomeranian to death in property fight
Drunk brother killed the dog when it barked at him for attacking his sister.
Hyderabad: An eight-year-old Pomeranian dog was stamped to death on Friday night during a quarrel between a brother and sister over a property dispute.
In fact the sister, P. Rama Devi, an employee of the National Geophysical Research Institute, suspects that her brother may have earlier killed other pets of hers. The brother, P. Nagaraju, lived with his sister and their mother in Lalpet. He was taken into custody and booked under sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
The house in Lalapet is long the cause of bitterness between the siblings. They had a history of fighting over the house like cats and dogs, no pun intended.
At 9 pm on Friday, another argument broke out between Devi and Nagaraju. The fight turned particularly nasty and Nagaraju tried to attack his sister. He was reportedly drunk. At this, her Pomeranian began barking at him. The brother was irate and began stamping the dog. The mother and sister were scared of Nagaraju, given that he had been violent towards them on earlier occasions, and so were helpless. He stamped the dog so much it died.
When Devi tried to call the police for help, Nagaraju threatened her with dire consequences. So on Saturday morning she went to the Osmania University police station and lodged a complaint.
Sub-inspector A. Narsing said that Nagaraju was being questioned. The Pomeranian’s corpse was sent for a post mortem examination to the Government Veterinary Hospital in Narayanguda.
