Damania's land grabbing allegations against Bhujbal family baseless: Sameer Bhujbal
Mumbai: Mumbai NCP president Sameer Bhujbal on Sunday alleged that Anjali Damania has been using Fernandes' family for political purposes. Mr. Bhujbal, who is the nephew of Maharashtra minister and OBC leader Chhagan Bhujbal, claimed that as the OBC Aarakshan Bachao Elgar Parishad rally was successful, a conspiracy has been hatched to defame his family. Ms Damania, who is an anti-corruption activist, on Saturday said she would stage a dharna against Chhagan Bhujbal who had allegedly taken a bungalow of the Fernandes family in Santacruz.
The Mumbai NCP chief also appealed to the Fernandes family to not fall prey to politics. He said that there is no relationship between Chhagan Bhujbal and Fernandes family.
“Ms Damania is doing a political stunt. The accusations made by her are completely false. She has hired a battery of lawyers to file cases against us. If she is so concerned for the Fernandes family then why didn't she think of giving them a lawyer for this issue?” Sameer Bhujbal asked.
The anti-corruption activist had alleged that the Fernades family was evicted from their property to make a residential building for the Bhujbals. However, they were not provided compensation for their land.
The NCP leader said that they have not cheated the Fernades family. “In fact, we are ready to give them money or compensation. But they should approach the Appellate tribunal for it,” he said.
