Rs 280 crore unearthed in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh

Against the national figure, the AP and TS teams have unearthed 10 per cent of the total undisclosed amount.

Hyderabad: As much as Rs 280 crore of undisclosed amount was unearthed by Income Tax teams in raids and surveys, post demonetisation in the Telugu states. Director General for Central Investigation Unit (CIU) Ms Neena Nigam on Monday informed media during a press conference that the I-T conducted 12 searches after November 8 in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

“We have seized Rs 11 crore of cash during searches apart from Rs 280 crore towards undisclosed amount,” she said. Income Tax sleuths across the country have conducted about 3,000 searches in which Rs 300 crore was seized and Rs 2,870 crore undisclosed amount unearthed. Against the national figure, the AP and Telangana teams have unearthed 10 per cent of the total undisclosed amount.
