Eligible below poverty line (BPL) families will get land pattas for their houses before Sankranti.
TIRUPATI: Eligible below poverty line (BPL) families will get land pattas for their houses before Sankranti, said Tirupati sub-collector Nishanth Kumar.
Mr Nishanth Kumar inspected the houses in Mangalam on Tuesday along with the revenue officials and verified the survey areas along with the details of the identified families and compared them with the allotted names. Almost 1,700 have applied for pattas in which government has sanctioned only 135.
Speaking to mediapersons, Tirupati sub-collector said, “There are many families in this area. We have allotted them nearly 135 houses. We will complete the formalities in 15 more days and will present them the documents before Sankranti. We have identified more than 500 in Mangalam area.”
He instructed revenue officials to identify the remaining eligible families in the city to allot land to them at the earliest. Revenue officials told him that they are working out to identify eligible families for the land pattas. The sub-collector has randomly checked the houses to verify whether they have been allotted to the existing families or to some others.
