Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao left for his farmhouse at Gajwel on Monday for the first time in his second term in office and has been there since.

He is expected to return on December 21 when he hosts a dinner for Christians at LB Stadium. Mr Rao had left immediately after the completion of the review meeting on Mission Bhagiratha.

Sources in the TRS said Mr Rao had taken up the exercise of formation of his new Cabinet in real earnest. He has collected information regarding all the party’s 88 MLAs who were elected recently, and of Legislative Council members. The CM also collated information on the performance of his ministers in the first TRS Cabinet.

Sources said Mr Rao has placed two yardsticks for the selection ministers — one of loyalty and the other hard work and performance apart from social  equations.

It is expected that the CM may induct eight ministers in the first phase on December 30. The main problem is in the selection of MLAs belonging to the Reddy community.

There are 29 MLAs elected from this community.

Apart from the ministers from the first term, some of the MLAs elected in the recent elections are close to Mr Rao.

Apart from this, he is also searching for ideal candidates for the posts of Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
