Madhya Pradesh put on alert
Bhopal district collector Tarun Pithode ordered to launch a crackdown on the mischief-mongers who tried to circulate provocative messages.
Bhopal: Prohibitory orders under section 144 CrPC were on Thursday clamped in several districts in Madhya Pradesh to stop anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests, being witnessed in other parts of the country, from spreading in the state.
Bhopal district collector Tarun Pithode ordered to launch a crackdown on the mischief-mongers who tried to circulate provocative messages, clips or videos on social media to disturb social harmony, while clamping Section 144 of the CrPC in the district.
Similar measures have also been undertaken by collectors of over 20 districts, identified as sensitive, a senior officer in the state home department told reporters here.
“All the 52 districts in the state have been put on high alert. The collectors and superintendents of police of these districts have been directed to keep strict vigil in sensitive areas in their districts in the wake of growing protests against CAA witnessed in some parts of the country,” the officer said.
