MK Stalin, Kanimozhi arrested for rail roko to allow jallikattu

Chennai: DMK working president M.K. Stalin was arrested on Friday along with his partymen when they tried to block trains at Mambalam railway station demanding an ordinance to allow jallikattu, the traditional sport of Tamils.

The protesters led by Stalin entered through the Ranganathan street, removed the police barricades to reach the Mambalam railway station.

They squatted in front of an EMU between Beach and Tambaram and raised slogans against the central and state governments.

Other DMK leaders, including party MP Kanimozhi participated in the state-wide rail roko and arrested.
