Hyderabad: Driver scoots after school bus mishap
The driver is absconding and police teams has been deployed to trace him.
Hyderabad: A six-year-old Class I student fell off her school bus and fatally came under its wheels on Saturday morning at Vanasthalipuram because of the driver’s negligence.
The cleaner was helping other students sit in the back rows when Anjali fell down. The driver is absconding and police teams has been deployed to trace him.
Anjali’s parents, relatives and locals staged a protest outside the school, blaming the management for its negligence which cost Anjali’s life. “We made her board the bus around 8 am and within 10 minutes we got a call that she had died. We rushed to the spot to find her body,” said her father Nagaiah, a daily wage worker.
“The management is not responding to our questions now. They are simply saying that it was the driver’s fault and not theirs,” said a relative.
Anjali's mother, stunned by the sudden demise of her daughter, was sobbing inconsolably. I made sure that she has sat properly. I even asked the driver to be careful. The driver should be punished for killing my daughter,” she said while breaking down.
A case was booked against the driver under Section 304 part II (culpable homicide) of IPC.
