Congress stands for the poor, says Digvijay Singh
He said that the Congress had provided various benefits to SC and ST sections.
Vijayawada: AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh here on Saturday said that the Congress stands for the poor, SC and ST sections. Participating in the Congress SC, ST sections meeting, Mr Digvijay Singh said that the Congress had provided various benefits to SC and ST sections. He said that the other parties in the state and the country neglected the poorer sections. The Congress leadership made sacrifices for the country, he added.
Besides, PCC chief N. Raghuveera Reddy said that TD and BJP governments are harassing the Congress leaders in state and as well as in the country by involving them in police cases. He said that they would not be deterred by police harassment. Former union minister Panakabaka Lakshmi said that several leaders who quit the Congress are planning to come back. But the Congress high command should give tickets for rank and file who stood for party only, she added.
Former MP Chinta Mohan said that the Congress would come to power and Kapus would be given CM post. On this occasion, activists raised slogans against his comments. Several former ministers and leaders were also present in the meeting.
