Rajamouli's name is not there in the committee headed by Parakala.
Vijayawada: Historians, experts and archeologists in the Parakala Prabhakar Committee, formed to design the capital city Amaravati, plan to focus and highlight heritage and culture of pre-Buddhist, Buddhist and post-Buddhist, pre-Satavahana, Satavahana and post-Satavahana periods.
The roads, avenues and living areas of the capital will be designed as per the suggestions and subsequent deliberations of the Parakala Prabhakar Committee.
Acharya Nagarjuna, Amaralingeswara, Gauta-miputra Satakarni and Sri Krishnadevaraya are the names being seriously considered for the gates to be set up at the culminating points of the proposed roads to the Capital Amaravati, according to sources. London-based Foster+ Partners will submit the concept designs of Amaravati to the state government within a couple of days.
The government has allotted lands to nine thematic cities of Amaravati and also suggested as to what kind of infrastructure is to be developed, by underscoring the kind of culture and heritage concepts to be incorporated, in the 217 sq. km capital region.
A study carried out by APCRDA and MA&UD officials in Europe, Eurasia, West Asia, China and South America has suggested to construct cities on these subject — government, finance, knowledge, justice, health, sports, tourism, media and electronics cities.
Giving details on the same, communications adviser Parakala Prabhakar said the committee would examine various periods of history, personalities those who created history and the culture and heritage richness of their rule, on Wednesday and Thursday.
“The committee consists of eminent personalities from the disciplines of history, archaeology, heritage and culture,” Mr Prabhakar said. The interesting point is that the designs of the capital city would be a blend of various cultures of different ages, carved out by eminent rulers of historical importance.
“This is unique,” a senior CRDA official said and added that the seven approach roads culminating at the capital city will be designed, reflecting the importance of different kingdoms and cultures, like Ikshwaka, Satavahana, Chola and Chalukya, where the spiritual flavours of those ages also will be mixed.
