Thrissur: The  CPM state conference to be held here from Thursday to Sunday will follow the  green protocol by avoiding  synthetic and plastic materials. The organising committee has issued  a ‘clear out’ order to  flex boards and plastic pen, plates and glasses among other things and   adopted bio-degradable materials like clothes, bamboo and paper for use at the event. The organisers have used a special bamboo name (Aanamula) for the badges to be handed over to all the 570 delegates attending the conference.   The badges would be kept by the delegates as a memento, they said.

Mr Chandra Dutt,  the official in-charge of the green protocol,  said that no plastic or synthetic material would be used.   Even the ‘Arangu’ used for decorations is  made as per the green protocol. “The bamboo badges will have the photo and the names imprinted on them and one badge costs Rs 40. The special bamboo is brought from Aranmula in Alappuzha,”  Byju of Thaivamakkal FolkLore Group at Kanimangalam, who is making the badges, said.
