Supreme Court firm on transfer of Telangana HC Chief Justice
The Centre referred the proposal back to the CJI for reconsideration.
Hyderabad: The Supreme Court collegium headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi has reiterated its proposal to the Union government to transfer Telangana High Court Chief Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan to the Calcutta High Court.
The CJI along with collegium members Justice A.K. Sikri, Justice S.A. Bobde, Justice N.V. Ramana and Justice Arun Mishra on Tuesday confirmed that there was nothing to reconsider its earlier decision on the transfer of Justice Radhakrishnan.
On January 10, the SC collegium had proposed the transfer of Justice Radhakrishnan in the interest of better administration of justice at the Calcutta High Court and forwarded the proposal to the Union government. The Centre referred the proposal back to the CJI for reconsideration.
In reply, the collegium unanimously resolved that there was nothing new for it to reconsider in the matter. The collegium also forwarded a proposal to the Union government to transfer of Justice S.V. Bhatt of the AP High Court to the Kerala High Court.
